What does "saucy" mean? 

"Saucy" is a slang term from the Bay Area that means something looks stylish. In other words, when you hear someone say "that looks hella saucy," that means that whatever they're referring to looks very stylish.

Usually, "saucy" is used in the context of clothes, but "saucy" can also describe a feeling. Like, "I'm feelin hella saucy today..." In other words, one feels very confident, charming, sexy, and cool, all wrapped into one.

So when we decided to call ourselves "look saucy," it's because we want you to be looking like you feel good. Because when you look good, you feel good. And conversely, when you feel good, you look good.

And when you look good, WE feel good. That's the work! Consistently achieving that positive feedback loop is our goal.

 Who are we? 

We're just a couple of proud Black and Asian Oaklanders that want you to be looking and feeling good when you're out walking around the Town. Born and bred in Oakland, we have a certain "look" that we think looks saucy on a lot of people. The style, the fit of our clothes aren't the standard Hanes or Gildan shirts or hoodies you see everywhere. When you wear our clothes and you walk around, and when someone says "I like that shirt!" - that's the type of moments we live for. You naturally feel good when someone says that to you in passing! 

So we love to start that virtuous cycle of goodness, starting from how you look, which informs how you feel. And how you feel shapes how you look. That's our work.

 What's the right size? 

Our clothing runs true to size. So for instance, if you usually wear size large in a regular fitting Hanes t-shirt, our large in an oversized drop shoulder baggy shirt will feel like an x-large. That's because that's the look intended for the person who usually wears a regular large.

For the ladies shirts, they run true to size as well. For instance, the baby tee crop top is a tight fit, because that's the look.

Our product photos show how we'd typically wear and pair our clothes. But it's totally up to you how you'd like to style yourself. Your creativity is the limit of course! In our product photos, our clothes are paired with basic pant and shoe combinations that would look good on practically anyone. So we definitely recommend using our product photos as a style guide on how to pair our clothes.

As far as garment care, it's true that your clothes will shrink if you wash them with hot water and put them in the dryer. So, if you're the type of person that likes to put all your clothes in the dryer, then we definitely recommend going one size up. If this sounds like you, and you wear a large, get the x-large.

Of course, we'll always recommend that you wash your clothes in cold water and hang dry if you want your clothes to last. Our clothes will last for decades if you just wash in cold water and hang dry. If this sounds like you and you usually wear a large, just get the large, as it will be true to design.

On every product page there's a size chart as well, so please use that as a reference as well. And also, make sure to read our garment care page for our washing recommendations.

 When will my clothes arrive? 

Once we receive your order, it'll take 2 business days to make and ship. We use direct to garment printing, so the ink on our shirts look like they're "tattooed" on, versus other shirts that look like a plastic sticker was just pressed onto the shirt. 

Shipping usually takes around 3 days, so you'll typically receive your clothes in about 5 business days. So for instance, if you order on a Monday during normal business hours (9am-5pm), you'll receive your package at your door on that coming Friday afternoon. Sometimes it'll arrive a day early!

We only use USPS to ship, and we only ship within the US for now. If you live outside of the US and want our stuff, shoot us a message on our contact page and we'll see what we can do to make you happy :)

 My clothes arrived and there's a problem. What now? 

If there are defects of any kind, we'll gladly send you a replacement asap. Read our returns page for detailed return and replacement information.
